About the event
The design of tomorrow will increase the use of glass, concrete, exposed ceilings and other hand surfces into the built environment. These architectural elements not only deliver modern and desirable aesthetics, but also provide surfaces that are easily cleanable. The continued use of thes non-sound absorbing elements will present us with acoustical challenges and will have direct impacts on occupants well-being and productivity.
This course will dive into modern design and the health impacts related to these decisions. We will also explore the ways architectural acoustics imapct the interior environment and occupants. Lastly, we will learn how to properly identify and specify sound absorbing materials while exploring the types and benefits associated with luminaire integration.
